Service Projects

Food and Clothing Project
Deliver a month supply of food and much needed clothing to families desperate for daily survival. After a warm welcome, you’ll feel their sincere gratitude as you spend time visiting them in their homes and hearing their stories about a life remarkably different from yours. (Zimbabwe)
.
Chicken Coop Construction Project
In an effort to provide sustainability, you’ll help construct small chicken coops, stock them with laying hens,  and provide an initial supply of feed. With this jump start, families will not only have a food source, but extra eggs can be sold to provide much needed income. (Zimbabwe)

Cultural Activities

Zimbabwe Communal Lands
Visit a small village, where residents still live without electricity or running water. Eat a meal prepared over a fire in a
traditional thatched roof and mud walled rondoval (hut). Learn how the native people live off the land, as they have done for centuries.
.
Cultural Dancing Event
Watch a presentation by Yuda Bands students, who will proudly share their traditional dances, music, and local customs.
.
Namibian Village
Take a short boat ride across the Chobe River from Botswana to Namibia, and spend the afternoon visiting villages and villagers living daily life.

Sight-seeing Opportunities

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Visit Victoria Falls, the largest waterfalls in the world and one of the greatest attractions in Africa. The falls are located on the Zambezi River, which separates Zimbabwe and Zambia.
.
Chobe National Park, Botswana
Chobe is known as one of the best wildlife parks in all of Africa, boasting one of the largest elephant concentrations in the world. It’s the setting for numerous National Georgraphic documentaries.
.
Chobe River Cruise, Botswana
Take a relaxing afternoon/evening boat cruise on the Chobe River, as you watch wildlife gather to drink the life-giving water. As the sun drops, you’ll see why many consider a Chobe River sunset among the most beautiful in the world.
