Poverty is the root of many social and economic problems. It is also what deters a person from reaching their full potential and enabling themselves to have a brighter future. This scenario is far too common not only in Guatemala and Zimbabwe, the countries we currently work in, but countless developing countries around the globe.
Thankfully, more and more efforts are coming to light to fight poverty. For one, the Yuda Bands organization has made it their life mission to help eradicate poverty and provide opportunities for more children to go to school — all thanks to a bracelet.
The Process
Perhaps you’re wondering how all it works. Well, today, we’re going to let you in on how exactly our Yuda Bands go from being a piece of accessory to an instrument of ending poverty.
Let’s start with how are the bracelets created.
How are Yuda Bands made?
Yuda Bands bracelets owes its creation to the dedicated artisans all the way from Guatemala. Each band is handcrafted and shipped to a designated schools that signs up for the project, for free.
That’s why when you decide to work with us, you not only open a door for children to learn. You are also providing employment opportunities to those who need it.
How do you get involved?
Yuda Bands is a service-oriented program, meaning we welcome just about every person who is willing to lend his or her helping hand in making this project bigger and better.
If you’re a student who wants to make a difference using Yuda Bands, all you have to do is sign up for free on our website. Once you do, you will be partnered with a project manager and provided with the training tools you will need to get started.
When the time comes that you are ready to be the project leader in your school, you and your team of fellow students will then choose a student to sponsor from this page.
How will you get the bracelets?
You need to choose a student to sponsor first. After that, a box of bracelets is shipped to your school for free. You and your team can then sell these bracelets for a two week period.
At the end of the two-week period, all unsold Yuda Bands will be shipped back to us, for free. The sales of the bracelets will then be sent back and allocated for your sponsored student.
It’s as simple as that, only, you’ve managed to change a child’s life!
Why For Free?
We believe the more accessible Yuda Bands are, the more people we can work with on the project. When we are greater in number, we can accomplish a lot more. In this case, we can cover more ground and provide education to a lot more children in need.
Ensuring that the process is free makes the project a lot more inviting to those who want to help. Students don’t have to worry about paying for shipping. Training is free, too. All you have to do is be willing to help, and then work with your project manager and trainer to let everything else follow.
A Win for Everyone
What makes Yuda Bands truly unique is that their benefits go beyond providing education to the less fortunate. It’s practically a win-win situation for everyone involved in the project. For one, those who make the bracelets have found a livelihood that helps sustain their day-to-day needs. They can make a living all while helping others who are in need as well.
Another is that students and schools who become part of the project find a greater purpose in life. They realize that there are a lot of children who don’t have the same privileges as them but deserve it just as much. Some of these students join us in Guatemala and Zimbabwe so they can personally see what goes on and where all their effort goes. Everyone that joins us on the Yuda Bands Service Trips get to meet the students they have sponsored and hear about their life stories first hand.
We received countless opportunities thanks to this project. We have met and worked with so many people that have made Yuda Bands far bigger than what it was before.
Yuda Bands has taught us that life is so much bigger than how we live it. There are so many people who need our help; who deserve to have a brighter future ahead of them. With one bracelet, we can change someone’s life and give that person a chance to fulfill his or her dreams.
