are a unique combination of service and adventure. Join us this summer for a true AFRICAN CULTURE SHOCK as we travel Botswana & Zimbabwe to serve some of the poorest people on earth.

What Makes us Different

Although we take every precaution to make our trips safe and rewarding, our Yuda Bands Service Trips are not our main focus. Rather, the main thrust of the Yuda Bands organization is building scholarship funds for educating youth in developing nations, AND implementing leadership and character building training to make the most of that education. Our trips SUPPORT that never-ending quest. Any time a group or organization travels to a developing nation to perform service, it’s beneficial. However, a “visit-serve-leave approach” is not as effective for real lasting change. Therein lies the difference with Yuda Bands. When you participate in one of our summer service trips, you are adding strength to a constantly running program that will continue after you leave. That’s called sustainability.

Itinerary at a Glance

Africa has it’s own unique mystic beckoning to both the humanitarian and the adventurous tourist. This 15 day Yuda Bands service trip is the perfect combination of both. It begins in Gweru, Zimbabwe, home to 150 Yuda Bands sponsored students who will welcome you into their hearts and win you over with their smiles. Gweru offers no false pretenses as you’ll see Zimbabwean culture and life-style in it’s raw reality, getting a taste of life for the average Yuda Bands student. Because Zimbabwe was originally the British colony of Southern Rhodesia, you’ll have the benefit of common language, allowing you to communicate without a translator to hear first hand stories of a life vastly different than your own. While most of our time will be spent visiting and doing service projects with the students and their families, we won’t leave Zimbabwe without visiting Victoria Falls (a World Heritage site), considered by some to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Wild elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and other fascinating wildlife await you on a real African safari, making this trip an absolutely unforgettable experience.
